The 2019 Lodi Wine and Food Show is quickly approaching. This 4th annual festival features wine tasting from 40 wineries, olive oil tasting, food from local restaurants and caterers as well as live music. A limited number of VIP tickets will be sold and will get you more time to spend with the winemakers tasting special wines along with a commemorative wine glass and food tray. Tickets are $70 in advance only. The Grand Tasting is $50 in advance and $60 at the door. The event will be held in the Ole Mettler Grape Pavillon at the Lodi Grape Festival Grounds, 413 E Lockeford Street in Lodi, CA, 95420.

Consumnes River Farm: Will likely be offering tastings of their many different balsamic vinegar flavors and olive oil. In addition, their full wine lineup includes 2015 District 11 Chardonnay, 2015 Thunder Oak Chardonnay, 2015 District 11 Moscato, District 11 Grand Cuvee, 2014 District 11 Old Vine Zinfandel, 2014 Thunder Oak Old Vine Zinfandel.
Drava Wines will be featuring their 2016 Grenache (Silver Award Winner at the 2019 SF Chronicle Wine Competition), 2014 Petit Verdot and their 2014 Pinot Gris. The Grenache is medium-bodied with fresh crushed grapes, cranberries and violets greeting the nose up-front with light dusty tannins and a low acidity finish. The Petit Verdot is well-structured with mineral and tannic components. Spices and freshly crushed grapes are revealed with decanting or aeration. Drava’s Pino Gris is made in the Oregon style with barrel fermentation, 100% malolactic and sur lies aging. It features toasted bread and stone fruit flies on the nose with expansive mouthfeel and finish from the fermentation techniques.
Goodmills Family Winery: GoodMills will be serving two of their San Francisco Chronicle Award Winning wines: 2017 Sauvignon Blanc, a Gold Award Winner, and 2017 Rose, Silver Award winner. In addition, they will be serving their 2014 Teroldego and their 2017 Native Cabernet Sauvignon.
Van Ruiten Family Winery will be serving their 2017 Sparkling Rose’ featuring aromas of strawberry and watermelon paired with flavors of cherry, guava and tangerine. Well-balanced through the mid-palette and the finish lingers with a ruby grapefruit note; 2017 Chardonnay, Silver Award Winner at the 2019 SF Chronicle Wine Competition, with aromas of apple, pear and tangerine and flavors of pear, lemon custard and vanilla. Full-bodied with a nice acidity and finishes with a bright lemon note; 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, Silver Award Winner at the 2019 SF Chronicle Wine Competition, with aromas of cherry, blueberry, spice and caramel and flavors of ripe cherry, plum and vanilla. Tannins are well-integrated making this nicely balanced. The finish lingers with a cherry and spice note. They will also be serving their 2015 Reserve Merlot.
Thomas Allen Vineyards & Winery: One of the newest tasting rooms in Lodi, will be pouring their 2016 Chardonnay, 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2016 Generations Red Wine, which took a Silver Award in the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
Olive Drop Olive Oil Company Will be showcasing their Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Garlic Olive Oil, Basil Olive Oil, Lemon Olive Oil, Orange Olive Oil, Rosemary Olive Oil, Chile Olive Oil, as well as their Balsamic Vinegar.
